Rather ponderously directed by Jay Russell with solid performances from its core cast, Bledel and Jackson are particularly charming, Tuck Everlasting is a film about embracing and living life that young teenage girls will especially enjoy. ![]() And while this may seem potentially profitable to people like the creepy Man in the Yellow Suit, Ben Kingsley, the Tucks know the burdens and the tragedies of staying their age while everyone they love grows old and dies. Set in the days of buckboards and general stores, the story is enriched by a stellar cast and a lack of profanity and sexual situations. Over a hundred years ago the Tucks drank from a spring which gave them everlasting life. It is a winning and thoroughly engaging story that has left both of us talking. There's something mysterious about the Tucks and we soon find out what it is. Tuck Everlasting is the fifth book that my daughter and I have read this summer. He and his troubled brother Miles, Scott Bairstow, take Winnie back to their home in the woods to meet their mother, Sissy Spacek, and father, William Hurt. Venturing into the forbidden woods adjacent to her home she becomes lost and stumbles across Jesse Tuck, Jonathan Jackson. ![]() In the early years of last century teenage Winnie Foster, Alexis Bledel, is itching to break away from the constraints of her strict establishment family, particularly her domineering mother played by Amy Irving. Cars and pedestrian traffic make their way through the streets. ![]() Tuck Everlasting is based on the award-winning children's novel by Natalie Babbitt. Tuck Everlasting opens in the present day, in the town of Treegap.
